Zamantix Rovers Football Club are proud to support the work being done by Sunrise2Sunset charity.
Each year the group raise money for Make A Wish NZ and Heart for Youth (a local youth mentoring organisation) by holding a continuous 14hr+ soccerthon.
Since it's inception, the club have gladly participated by fundraising, donating equipment and player strips, and more.
SDA Football Tournament
In 2017, Zamantix Rovers Football Club was approached by a volunteer working with Refugees As Survivors New Zealand (RAS) about helping them with an upcoming football tournament.
The team, a majority of which were asylum seekers, were after a uniform to borrow for the tournament. It just so happened we had a strip that was no longer in use by any of the teams, and were able to donate it for good.
The lads performed incredibly well with 2 wins and 2 draws in the first round. They made it to the finals in the B Grade and
after three back-to-back games, they were understandably exhausted. They managed to dig deep and went on to win the game 1-0 after going into extra time.
We are all very proud of the team for the win, and especially that we could be part of their success, even if only in a small way.
